MIRACLE!!

"I pray also that your eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints..." Ephesians 1:18

I want to sincerely thank each of you who have prayed with us this week.  Our family has felt your prayers and, most importantly, God heard your prayers.  The last forty-eight hours have been like drama series unfolding before my eyes.  My wife, Tarra, and I left two doctor offices with the somber news that we only had a couple of days left with her sight.  We left with the 1 Thess 5:17 resolution – and knew we need prayer warriors alongside us.  Through our prayers we were looking for two things:  the pressure to drop and clear direction with a doctor we could trust.

Not long after we called upon the prayer force, things immediately started to happen.  Within one hour we had two phone calls pointing us to one person, Wade Joiner.  Although we had other phone calls giving us other names, there was something about this name.

The next morning Rick and Bubba appealed to their audience to pray for Tarra.  Within minutes emails flooded in to my phone.  Many of those shared they would be praying, but 14 offered advice on who to see. Twelve of the 14 had one name - Wade Joiner!  Throughout the day and evening the name Wade Joiner continued to surface and, knowing the Lord and how He works, I knew this was our guy.

While we don’t know who all or how many, we do know that thousands of people have been petitioning to God on our behalf.

What a comfort and confirmation to show up and not be met by Interns, Fellows or Assistants, but actually sit and discuss things with Dr. Joiner. After a series of tests he gave his diagnosis as Open Angle Glaucoma – a very manageable form and very different from Acute Closed Glaucoma. The pressure in Tarra's eyes had dropped 18 points in less than 24 hours!

Tarra, my gracious wife has walked through this trial for about seven weeks.  She looked at the doctor and said, "If you must do surgery, do it today."  His response was, "No, I would not do it even if you forced me to today."  He said we are on the way to conquering this situation.   We have accepted Dr. Joiner as the quarterback for this situation and will follow his lead.  We go back on Friday of this week to check the pressure and to discuss next steps.  Please continue to pray that the numbers drop and for God to continue to give wisdom to Dr. Joiner and his team.  He is probably the most prayed for Doctor in America.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to walk with me through this trying time.  God is always on time and always in control!

In the Battle!
