He is Risen!
"He has risen! He is not here." Mark 16:5
Happy Easter from the Dawsons!
I've got good news this morning: the tomb is empty, the throne is occupied, and Jesus Christ is Lord!
There's no greater message than the transforming power of the Gospel!
In the midst of darkness, despair, and tumult, Jesus was born with "healing in in His wings"—bringing light, hope, and peace to a hurting world.
The manger made a way for the cross—where Jesus became sin for us and bore the wrath that should be ours. The cross made a way for the grave that couldn't hold Him, gave us life, and conquered death.
And if that isn't enough, He "whose glory cannot be contained by the heavens," condescends to make His home in our hearts.
He penetrates the darkness saying, "I am the light of the world."
He breathes hope into despair saying, "take heart, I have overcome the world" and "my grace is sufficient for you."
And, He calms the tumult saying, "Be still, and know that I am God."
Today as we celebrate with family and friends, let's purpose to live in the hopeful reality of the resurrection all year long: "behold, I make all things new."
